About Project

Landmark Pinnacle, in London’s Canary Wharf, is the tallest residential building in Europe. And the 27th of its 75 floors is home to the Panoramic Sky Gardens, the highest residential tropical garden in the UK.

Verdant Horticulture was engaged to advise the developers on the correct selection of plants for this location – in the end, more than 3,500 were planted here.

We were helped in no small part by the developers’ acceptance that the humidity on this floor would need to be high. Had they insisted on low humidity, their plant palette would have been reduced by nearly three-quarters.

The gardens embrace the concept of biophilic design, which subconsciously connects people with nature.

David Hill, of architects Squire and Partners, commented: “Garden spaces such as these bring nature inside and help provide that valuable connection to green space in an urban context.”
